About me: I was born in Munich, Germany and currently I live in Long Beach, California. I consider myself an introverted extrovert and pretty well rounded. I went from dancing competitively to teaching yoga, to teaching indoor cycling. I'm currently at GritCycle. My platform for movement and staying active continues to evolve, so who knows what’s next!
My fitness journey
I was a dancer for 10 years starting at the age of 7. My Mom signed me up because I was a very shy child, though when on stage, or when teaching, whether it be on the mat or on the podium, you would never know that I’m shy. I have come a long way in regards to being an extrovert but I still need and enjoy my time alone to decompress.
With dance, I knew I didn’t want to try to go professional. It's very cutthroat and that wasn't for me. When I found yoga at 23, I discovered another form of movement and expression. It was being able to choreograph a type of “dance” with poses on the mat. In dance it was about the shapes - you make this shape, and it doesn’t necessarily matter how your body feels - it's about how it looks. In yoga it’s all about the poses, but always taking your body and it’s anatomy into consideration; maybe you’ll do this pose, maybe you won’t, and that’s okay.
Indoor cycling for me is about connecting with self and other riders through movement, music, and challenges. Throughout Covid-19 while most studios have been closed, I’ve started coaching high intensity training at West Grove Fitness. I love it and it’s so different to everything else I’ve done.
From yoga to indoor cycling
Right now, I don’t teach yoga at all. I did a few virtual classes during quarantine but that’s it. I’ve gone heavy into indoor cycling - it's been my full-time gig for the past 3 years. Before Covid-19, I would teach spin 6 days a week and take a yoga class when I was done teaching. In my Colorado days, there was a time when I'd teach 2 spin classes and 11 yoga classes a week. I was teaching yoga and managing a studio and I got burnout, hence my teaching break from yoga. Indoor cycling is very different from yoga: the platform, the music, the energy. It was exactly what I needed at the time that I discovered it.
GritCycle
GritCycle has been shut down since March 15th because of the pandemic but we did do some virtual rides. I used to go in once or twice a week for filming. We reopened briefly for a few days in June and now in September we are finally starting to fully reopen. We are based in LA county so things are moving slowly but our Long Beach location is back this coming weekend!

Skincare
My skin changes through the seasons going from normal to dry. Sweat and working out has really affected my skin. I never used to have breakouts, and it wasn’t until I got into hot yoga that I saw shifts in my skin. I’ve always been into skincare and I focus on skincare that is not drying. Before FRÉ I wasn’t consistent with a skin care regimen. I started with the DETOX ME mask. I love how easy it is and my skin has cleared up a lot in the past 9 months.
My daily routine
I wash my face in the morning with PURIFY ME. Then I mist my skin with I AM JOY and follow up by applying GLOW ME tinted moisturizer with SPF 15. At night I use PURIFY ME, then I AM JOY with I AM LOVE, and on some nights, I’ll use RECOVER ME. My favorite FRÉ is GLOW BODY: I'm all about moisturizing after the shower and again every morning. #stayhydrated
When it comes to makeup I’m an Urban Decay girl though I don’t typically do a lot of makeup. I use Nars blush, Urban Decay eye shadow, Clinique mascara and eyeliner as I need those to be oil free with my contacts. I finish off my makeup with an Urban Decay makeup setter. If I’m not teaching, I just use tinted moisturizer, blush (sometimes), mascara and eyeliner.
